Your Funny Travel Story

A big apology to all adventure-loving readers: we just discovered that our contact widget was not working. It is fixed and working now, so you can easily submit Your Funny Travel Story. See below…

Everyone enjoys reading about the comical, amusing or unfortunate experiences of others, right? We all love a good laugh. Slipping on a banana peel, falling in the lake, trying to walk through a glass door – somehow these things are funny – when they happen to someone else! And our readers can’t wait to hear your funny travel story!

We are now accepting submissions for our new Series,

Funny Travel Stories

It could be about the time you lost your luggage, or the time you got scammed, or the time you got lost… you know what we mean. Something popped into your mind the minute you heard “funny travel story”.

Go ahead – give us all a giggle, and make someone’s day a little brighter.

If you have a humorous travel story from your own experience, we’d love to share it with our readers.

Don’t be shy.

We will edit and shape your story if there are any grammatical errors or ask you for additional information or clarity when necessary, and we will always run the final edit by you before publishing.

So bring a little of your travels to life. We will give your piece exposure and showcase it on the Funny Travel Stories series on this website, Travel To Little Known Places.

 * Your story can be comical, playful, or ridiculous – we love anything that makes us laugh…

But if it is an hysterical, knee-slapping, side-splitting travel story that is authentic and real, you can be almost certain that it will be published.

Writers that have the ability to draw the reader into their world

Personal experiences that places the reader in their shoes

*Writing that has a fresh, even saucy, voice (just write the same way you would talk to someone)

*Passionate writers that love to laugh and share their funny travel experiences or misadventures

*We’ll be looking for grammatical errors and how good or bad it is, but honestly, if your friends and family thought it was funny, we likely will too.

*Quality unpublished stories

*We’ll also be looking at whether it is a good fit and tone for our site.

*If you’ve never been published, that’s OK.

*If you have been published, that’s fine too, as long as the piece you submit to us is original, never published.

*Submit a complete story (a beginning, a middle and end with some sort of action or tension rising to a moment of climax, and then toward a resolution).

*Remember, your story can be comical, playful, or ridiculous – we love anything that makes us laugh…  but if it is an hysterical, knee-slapping, side-splitting travel story that is authentic and real, you can be almost certain that it will be published.

*Be original and creative

*Don’t tell – show what happened with the actions and details.

*Be energetic, enthusiastic, share your real emotions.

*Your job is to entertain the reader!
