Tonga: The Sexiest Men In The World

Sexy smiling Tongan man at Kava Ceremony

First of all, there is something I need to explain. What you are about to discover is that in this country…. … the bigger and the broader you are, the more prestige you have!   Quite a reversal from the cultural expectations in North America! Every time I tell someone about the big men and women on this South Pacific Island nation, especially women, they say, “I want to move there!” And well anyone might want to just that.  It is jaw-dropping beautiful! This is Tonga.     People in Tonga are enormous, often over six feet tall, and well … More…

I cannot believe it! My book is finally done.   This baby has been as much work as a real baby!   I have been constantly changing it, removing yucky stuff, redressing, changing again..   …removing godawful stuff I missed, sweet baby, feeding and feeding and feeding the flow of words, adding photos, complications with technical issues, removing photos, changing again…   …pampering it, holding it, talking to myself, screaming, asking myself why I ever decided to take on this nightmare, changing photos, changing words, getting hopeful, sweet baby, maybe not, changing again..   Well, you get the picture. White Cinderella Castle On The Danube

With the River Danube running through the centre of the city, Budapest is a spectacular city!   Did you know that there are two separate cities that make up Budapest? Buda is on the West side of the Danube and Pest (pronounced Pesht) is on the East side of the Danube.   One of the most impressive things about Budapest is its diverse architectural buildings, ranging from Gothic to Soviet-era, to Baroque to Roman Ruins to Art Nouveau. This is a result of Hungary being invaded an unbelievable number of times!   Hungary’s history goes back to over 350,000 years. Considering … More…

“Aw Sha, It Could Always Be Worse!”

Lost luggage is a fact of life for most travellers. It has rarely happened to me but it did once, at the worst possible time. Travel misfortunes are just to be expected. Ireland   We had just arrived in Ireland, and I was given assurance that they would find my bags any day, and that they would be delivered to me. We moved on to stay in a perfectly enchanting castle (this is one of very few package deals I like – flight, car, and castle stay package for Ireland).     It was bad enough making do with the few … More…
