Audubon Zoo, New Orleans

P1100806 Closer

The Audubon Zoo in New Orleans is ranked as one of the top zoos in the United States. We didn’t know this at all at the time.   In fact we had no idea how amazing it would be when we decided to take a break from Mardi Gras in Nawlins’, which of course, was fantastic fun, and in fact, when T suggested going to the zoo, I almost poo-pooed it. Who wants to go to a zoo when they’re in the middle of a place known for its fantastic music and parades and food? Now I am so … More…

Alligator Sausage and Praline Bacon in New Orleans

P1100398 Crocodile Sausage Close Up 2

You could go to New Orleans just to experience New Orleans food, never mind the world-famous musicians and bands, the friendly people, the wild parades, and the unique culture.    The food is that good! It is “fun food” too.   You cannot help but have a good time in New Orleans because it is always full of surprises of one kind or another.   What are the traditional foods of Nola? Red beans and rice, jambalaya, gumbo (creole stew with okra), collard greens, and seafood platters. All absolutely delicious to T, and mostly disgusting to me, with the exception … More…

This place is full of fantastic music, sexual innuendo, great food, riské parades, endless surprises, fantastic music (hint hint) and just wild crazy fun! Have you guessed where we’ve been? It’s more fun than a barrel of monkeys, a basket full of strange surprises, and a wagon load of shocking innuendo. Yes, New Orléans is right! No, it’s actually “Nawlins” as everyone who has been there knows, of course.    New Orléans is not for the conservative or repressed. It’s not for someone who might be easily offended. If men dressed as women or women dressed as men, or … More…
